What Is A Child Advocacy Center?

A Child Advocacy Center provides services to children who are suspected victims of physical or sexual abuse, through a Multidisciplinary Team approach. The Multidisciplinary Team brings together, under one umbrella, all the professionals and agencies needed to offer comprehensive services to children and their families: law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecution, mental health, medical, and victim advocacy.  The New London CAC & Wendy’s Place are safe, comfortable spaces for children where they can discuss the abuse in a child-friendly, non-threatening environment.
